PUA Techniques Don’t Work to Get a Girlfriend

Pete¹ used to be a PUA (Pick Up Artist), but then he decided he wanted to leave sexual seduction behind and get an actual girlfriend. Pete recently completed my Get a Girlfriend program and asked me why guys think they want PUA techniques when, really, they want love.

Just as interesting is why PUA techniques work to get women into bed but not into your “love” life. Isn’t the seduction game the same for getting the girl to have sex with you as it would be for getting her to fall in love with you?

Yes.

And no.

Being a Pick Up Artist — or practicing PUA techniques — to get women into bed doesn’t work to get a girlfriend. The reason why this doesn’t work isn’t about seduction strategies.

Success or failure in getting a girlfriend is about the mindset behind being a Pick Up Artist and how that translates into PUA techniques. Hint: It’s about manipulation.

Every woman interested in a relationship wants to be seduced by that one special guy, but not manipulated.

Look at the term: Pick Up Artist.

It’s not about how to marry a woman. It’s not about how to meet a woman’s needs. And it’s certainly not about how to show a woman your value as a man capable of a healthy relationship.

It’s about “picking up” women — not keeping them.

3 Mindset Changes to Get a Girlfriend as a “Reformed” PUA

• Change your attitude and MO.

Getting an amazing girlfriend is not about seducing a woman sexually.

If you want a woman to fall in love with the real you and have an amazing relationship and the best sex of your life, seduce her soul.

Discover, explore and understand her needs and wants outside the bedroom. Give a shit about her as a person, not just as a play toy that sexually validates you.

• Don’t make sex the end game.

I’m not saying don’t have sex with women. Hell, no! A man has needs and desires. I get that.

But if you want to wake up with someone you actually like spending non-sexual time with, make sex secondary with the women (woman) you kinda dig.

How do you know if you “dig” her?

Spend some fucking time getting to know her before ringing her bell. (Actually, make that “non-fucking” time.) If you’re not compatible as mates, then sure, go ahead, make like rabbits. (But don’t lie to her. Bad PUA habits die hard.)

• Accept that you’re going to need bravery.

Even men who are really good at getting women into bed must learn new habits and mindsets that are uncomfortable if they want to get a girlfriend.

Yep, even those seduction masters who practice the ultimate PUA techniques discover a different kind of excitement — rejection anxiety — when they change tactics to get a girlfriend.

All of a sudden, the possibility of rejection means something new. It doesn’t just mean, “Oh, well — next,” because now it matters.

You’re not interested in every girl as a potential girlfriend, so when you find one you actually like, you’ll feel vulnerable.

There’s a difference between getting women into bed with PUA techniques and, as a “reformed” Pick Up Artist, getting a girlfriend. The difference is that you have to ditch the manipulation mindset.

Manipulating a woman for sex is selfish. Think of it this way: Do you want to be manipulated for your money? (Just because it happens doesn’t make it right!)

Nothing changes if nothing changes.
